Tracie Hittman Fountain is a Madison-based nutrition consultant who helps individuals look great and feel better, through a combination of scientific research, whole foods, and nutrition & lifestyle coaching. Tracie became passionate about the science of nutrition in college when, as an elite athlete, she experienced life-altering health issues, most notably endometriosis and thyroid issues. Enduring pain, surgery, medications that sent her into early menopause and brought on horrible side effects (including up to 20 hot flashes a day, menstrual disruption, libido loss and lethargy), Tracie learned the hard way how quickly one’s health can take a turn for the worse, and how hard it is in modern society to get it back.
These struggles led her on a roller-coaster existence through the traditional health system, and after seven years, she found herself exhausted, still sick — and heavy, having gained 35 pounds. Embarking on a path of independent research and study, Tracie discovered individual and universal insights regarding health and healing, which sent her life and interests in a completely different direction, physically, academically, emotionally and spiritually.
She went on to earn a Master’s of Science in Holistic Nutrition from Hawthorn University, a highly regarded institution in California devoted to holistic health. Today, Tracie is passionate about health, on an individual and a grand scale. While her nutrition program will benefit anyone with a desire to live more healthfully and purposefully, she specializes in helping people with metabolism issues and hormone balances, and is particularly gratified when clients make significant progress through natural, holistic choices, breaking through blocks and barriers where drugs and chemicals didn’t help. She brings her own powerful personal experience, a wealth of nutrition and wellness knowledge, and a practical yet compassionate approach to helping people eat good food, get healthier bodies and lead better lives.
