I have always been a healthy eater and a very active person. However, the stress that I was under during the last year of my doctoral program took a significant toll on my body. After defending my dissertation I focused on getting healthy again but nothing that I did seemed to help. I was eating healthy food and exercising five to six days a week but felt terrible. Nothing that I did seemed to work. However, within two weeks of starting Tracie’s program and making minor changes to my eating habits, I began to notice significant changes in my energy and my mood. Without a doubt, the greatest benefit of the program is how much better I feel overall.
Initially, I was unsure whether I could afford to eat organically, but I found that my grocery bills actually decreased. I met with Tracie twice a month for four months. Given that my goal was to feel better and not to lose weight, our sessions focused on eating right for my activity level (I am training for an ironman) and learning how to monitor and listen to my body. All of the information that Tracie presented was easy to understand and based on her knowledge and research. Her recommendations are easy to follow and recipes/meal ideas that she provided make it easy to ensure that I eat healthy throughout the week without spend a lot of time in the kitchen. Some of my favorite recipes are crustless quiche, honey and lime sweet potatoes and chocolate ricotta.
One of the most useful tools that I have taken away from working with Tracie is learning to listen to my body. Eating a balanced diet has raised my body temperature closer to the normal range. In addition, I have started to monitor my body temperature to determine whether I am overtraining, not getting enough sleep or just stressed out. I cannot even begin to express the significant impact that minor changes to my eating habits has on my life. I highly recommend working with Tracie to become healthier and feel better.
